Initially playing guitar throughout the 1980s, learning the music trade across a multitude of styles including classical, rock, jazz and funk, Mike picked up the bass in 1990 stepping in for a “no-show” and hasn’t looked back since. Being part of the Melbourne music scene for this many years has given Mike the experience and ability to step into almost any musical situation on the bass, both on electric and upright, alongside many of Melbourne’s most prominent musicians. To quote Mike … “Holding down the low-end for Groovecentrix is a perfect match of technical challenge with tunes I really love to play, with a great bunch of like-minded musicians to produce a superb result!”. Mike also enjoys jazz and lounge music through his creation of the group Snazz Jazz.
